"God's Hands, God's Eyes"...and Blogland

A favorite singer of mine Jewel says in her song Hands that "we are God's hands, God's eyes". And I feel in a way we truly are. Being God's hands is embedded in the call for us to carry one another's burdens, and being God's eyes I feel can even happen in a special way in this little blogland of ours. I've really been noticing this lately.

Britt-Arnhild (House in the Woods) had this wonderful idea to feature a blog each day of Advent. I dont think I'm up to doing that every day of Advent, but I am very drawn to sharing here a few special blogs and/or posts that feel so deeply to show how God is HERE with us, the little daily miracles, that...presence. Because Advent puts this big giant healing spotlight on this incarnationalness, this God truly HERE with us, right here on earth, in our day to day lives. (As an aside, some posts that explore the incarnationalness of Advent on the bluebird blog are here, here, here, here and here.)

And so on this blog now, with these gatherings, a celebration of this blessed incarnationalness will I hope continue in it's own way... an extension of sorts of the "1000 Gifts", a gratitute for those writings and images that help us know a little more deeply that God is right HERE with us, not far away and ethereal but tangible and loving and IN our lives and REAL.

The first blog highlighted will be Britt-Arnhild's House in the Woods, her wonderful series on God's "heartprints". Upcoming : )
