Hello Sweet 2007, Hello Year of the Turtledove

Inspired by the whole "year of the turtledove" thing that's been coming up, and also impacted by this 1000 gifts thing of Anne V's, as well as Laurel Wreath's New Year's Meditations 2007, and also this being the season of the Epiphany now to boot...well, the deep draw to incarnationlness has suddenly started really "singing". So deeply this year of 2007 do I long to open my eyes to all the little and oh so powerful ways God's hand moves through our days and nights. And so deeply do I long to bring in more simple and deep joys into my days and nights. Somehow, they feel to be the "two turtledoves" for this year, I long to both really open my eyes to God's concrete hand in my day to day life, and also to, with His help, deepen my day to day life with more direct and simple living.
So this blog, which has been slowly forming, will now be the "home" for exploring some of these things. Here will be some musings on this dual focus on incarnationalness, and also links to those joining in the related Simple Pleasures, Daily Treasures challenge this year. It will also be the home of the Epiph-o-Blog and Epiph-o-Post Awards (the links spoken of here that have yet to be (belatedly!) organized are finding themselves wanting to turn into little awards, upcoming).
Well, more soon : ) I pray we all will have a VERY Blessed and Shining 2007, held so Deeply in His Hands!

I enjoyed reading your post, and the links. In one of your links you said "Healing from our past happens in layers..." this is so true. For me it was financial irresponsibility. It will be six years this January where I can honestly say we got on the "right path" and this being the year of being debt free. God is good, and He never gives up on us.
Blessings. Thank you so much for stopping by and Happy New Year.

Hi Laurel Wreath, I really loved your idea of doing this. I'm going to post it on my main blog too in a bit. And it was so encouraging what you shared about being debt free, I too long for that, and that is quite a deep accomplishment you have made! It truly is amazing what God can do with us when we let Him, how as you said He never forsakes us : )
Blessed New Year : ) Wendy
